Organic Music - What is it?

The word organic refers to something natural which has core value. And organic music is the music which gives positive vibes and by listening this type of music our soul really feel good and soother. Now a day’s music is recorded in studios and the natural instrument’s voices that are the real instruments for this kind of music, as its instrumental voices can be manufactured  on keyboards or this can also be done by some computer softwares too. And now almost every musician use drum machines, softwares for instrumentation, electronic keyboards etc. But majority of the people more enjoy music that is played through natural instruments then the recorded ones. Even there are organic music festivals that are appreciated and enjoyed by people very much. Many people wait for these festivals as they are crazy about these kind of festivals. And speciality about these festivals are they are not the recorded one, Natural instruments are used to play the music. That’s why people like it more.

Most practice places for organic music are Africa, Brazil. And this kind of music is enjoyed and appreciated almost in the whole world. There are number of natural instrument that is used to play organic music  some of them are goat hoof shaker, Moceno flute, Multicultural, Kinder Harp, rain stick, scraper, Pacay shaker, Sampona Flute and many more. Let me introduce these instruments with you in more details. Goat Hoof Shaker:- this instrument comes from Bolivia’s agricultural communities. To make dry, big crackle sounds, hooves are relieve from boiled, milky herds then it thread together to make hand rattles and ankle. Moceno Flute:- This flute is carved and handcrafted carefully with cultural icons, offers 2 octaves. Its length is 23 inches usually. Pacay Shaker:- When Pacay fruit’s skin is left to dry with the large seeds that is inside it then this instrument born. It’s very much easy to hold and play. And its length is 17 inches approx. Rain Stick :- This stick is Chilean rain stick which has diameter of minimum 2 inches, the stones jog through and pass off immense sounds. And its length is 16 inches usually.

Another type of natural instrument is Sampona Flute:- This is a traditional flute and this flute is from Bolivia and its longest tube comes in 9 inches size. There is one more type of natural instrument i.e. Scraper, that is founded in Peru. This instrument is washed, dried and sanded after that it is carved for designs and washboard for some scraping sounds. And it’s length is of 12 inches approx. There are many more natural instruments from around the world. And these instruments really helpful for kids so that can learn something about these traditional things and get inspired. Each and every instrument has some kind of historical view and particular culture. Each and every  natural instrument is handmade. All the above instrument discussed are specially for kids so that they get inspired and get to know more about traditional music. This kind of music is very much popular in Brazil and there are many musicians who play this music. There are some  original and unique styles that is opted by Brazilians  some of that styles are samba, frevo, choro, lambada, maracatu, sertanejo, axe, brega, Brazilian, bossa nova and many more.

This type of music should be encouraged because recorded music and artificial instrumental music can’t be compared with organic music. Music is something that play a very important role in our life. So it is very important that what kind of music we listen as it affect our life for sure. As people use to listen some good music when they are feeling low. And people enjoy with dancing on some hip hop music when it’s about festival or some special occasion. So I can bet that you will enjoy more when you listen organic music. People usually feel relaxed and get entertained by listening this kind of music. They feel like dancing when they listen to this music, there foot start dancing itself when they heard about this music type. We should listen to this kind of music more as it will be our more contribution towards our tradition and let me tell you that recorded artificial instrumental music affects at our health too. As some scientists prove that there are some harmful vibes that comes from artificial produced music through new technology’s instruments. As they fasten human’s blood circulation and effect heart beat too.

And there is one more point to listen this kind of music is what kind of music we listen our kids will follow the same, so if we listen music that is produced by some natural instruments then this music will go on and on with our kids. This type of music is environment friendly. Even birds feel good when they listen music played by these natural instruments as it seems that it is playing naturally. There are many cities specially in Africa and brazil who organize special festivals for this kind of music, there are huge variety of music that is played by these natural instruments and people waits for these festivals from long time. As they got a chance to enjoy such kind of music which is very rare now a days. So only we can make it popular and only we can start it again to that old peak.

New technology music over taken this kind of music very quickly, but natural instrumental music is having its impact on people always as they are always more curious about natural instrumental then the new technology’s music. People enjoy new tech music for sometime only but natural music that is produced by some natural instruments are evergreen. So we should encourage natural instrumental music then the new technology’s music. There is no doubt that these new tech music has its own importance as they come with some new features but nothing can replace the music that is played by these natural instruments. Educate your kids about this and feel proud to born on this earth which produce these kind of unique antiques.

The Difference Between Industrial Farming and Local Farming

Farming is one of the popular skills we humans have and to name some types of it, we have the Industrial and the Local farming. In Industrial farming, the practices are basically focused on production. It is the main goal of this type of farming to which, in the same way, any item would be produced in large amounts. Local farming, on the other hand, is more of being environment-friendly while still keeping economic effectiveness. Local farmers try to keep the fertility of the soil by using plant based, instead of fuel based, fertilizers.

Among the benefits of industrial farming are having cheap food; agricultural activities are released of labor; huge, commercial chemicals and agricultural industries; and finally, increased export markets. In contrast, the benefits of local farming are having an environment-friendly food source. Local farming basically feeds plants naturally and without chemicals. This would mean that food will last longer which allows you to store it in an extended time than any other industrial food products. Then again, local farming would also result to a more expensive food although this could possibly change in the coming years.

Which is better among the two? Well, industrial farmers depend primarily on technology, genetic engineering, and chemical solutions to resolve farming problems such as pests, feeding of livestock, illnesses, and the fertility of soil. Moreover, industrial farming is more likely to have a need of considerable volumes of energy and water. With these, there are a lot of substances produced by this type of farming which increases contamination, pollution and which in return can harm the land and water in or around the farm. Industrial farming not only focuses on the production of food products coming from plants but also the production of animals which may also be a threat to the health of the environment and to people who live near these large scale farms. In industrial farms, animals are not handled properly. They are given drugs that can cause persistent pain and crippling them at the same time. Aside from these, they are then kept in dirty surroundings, and in the end, are killed in horrible, forceful, and dreadful means.

However, in local farming, the amount of chemicals that humans and animals could possibly be exposed to be reduced since this type of farming treats the planet with a zero pesticide method. Local farming is also far more caring with animals than industrial farming. The reality is that meat products of this type of farming are also fresher and have a better savor. This is because in industrial farms, people are paid less than those working in local farms, which brings us to the conclusion that they will not care at all for animals. In effect, there is increased rate in cancer, brain damage and lingering disease of people.

There are definitely positive and negative outcomes of each farming technique, but the degree on how far and wide the insecticides, fungicides and chemical fertilizers can reach is indeed concerning. In summary, local farming gives the planet a healthier environment and a better health to the consumer then industrial farming.

The Benefits of Shallow Farming

            When it comes to farming and gardening in general, and organic farming specifically, there are critical distinctions between what is termed “shallow farming” and “deep farming”. An essential component of any successful gardening/farming endeavor is the condition of the soil. How the soil of the land that crops will be planted on is prepared is one distinction between “deep” and “shallow” soil. Deep soil is ground that has been extensively dug up down to a fairly deep depth, sometimes as deep as two feet, then turned over and mixed up with other natural additives, such as compost, manure, and green crops. Conversely, shallow soil is minimally disturbed soil down a shallow depth, maybe only a few inches, prepared for short root- length growing crops. We will briefly look at the shallow farming method.

            Shallow soil beds are used for cereal crops, grains, vetches, and legumes. A big difference between deep cultivation and shallow is the amount of energy expenditure required to prepare the soil beds. Deep farming large areas requires considerably more work, time, and processing. Shallow cultivation is much less energy-intensive. The compaction and density of the soil will be a determining factor as well as which method is used. Compacted, clayey soils are far more difficult to dig up to any considerable depth, and doing so on a large industrial-farm size scale may be cost-prohibitive. This is why shallow farming is popular in large parts of Africa, due to low cost and minimal energy expenditure.

            The big drawback to shallow farming is that the full impact of a truly organic approach cannot be fully implemented. Shallow farmers must to some extent use UN-natural supplements and additives to their soils, using “quick-fix inputs” such as fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides, to control growing conditions. In that sense, shallow farmers actually play into the hands of Big Agri-business! Some organic farmers utilizing the shallow method may eschew agricultural chemicals in favor of “organic” sprays and supplements, but in the end this “begs the question” of true organic growing methodologies, as the farmers turn to industry to solve their soil and plant health problems, rather than using permaculture techniques to let Nature solve the problems naturally.

            Deep organic farming, and the permaculture approach, uses biological diversity to solve their soil and plant health problems; beneficial insects (e.g., preying mantis, ladybugs, spiders, etc.) that eat the ‘bad” pests; plants that attract birds which also rid the area of specific pests. Organic shallow farming methods often rely on commercially available fertilizers and organic mulches, but that is still a dependency on an industry that requires petrochemicals and fossil fuels to operate, so is not truly, fully, organic and self-sustaining!

            While it may be argued that shallow and deep farming are both organic in nature, it may be the difference between a superficial commitment and a long-term one; as a parallel metaphor, “Do we get married for six months, or for the rest of our lives?” For a truly sustainable living environment, and ‘green ecology’, low carbon footprint, we need to implement deep farming methods and protocols on a much wider scale. Let us make the full commitment for a productive ‘marriage’ of soil diversity, organic farming, and healthy living.

The Benefits of Deep Farming

_       Sometime around October/November 2011 the population of Planet Earth is expected to reach seven BILLION people! Resource depletion and allocation, environmental degradation, human and animal health, pollution, energy availability, and many other issues are of critical concern in our food production methods and overall sustainability of the earth and humanity. As a consequence, how we produce our food, as well as the types of food produced, are issues that everyone is going to have to face and become intimately involved with. The core concept of a truly organic and viable ‘green’ ecology is what has been termed “deep organics”, or deep organic farming.

            As more arable land is taken over by human populations and urbanization, the idea and application of shallow farming, where huge tracts of land are dedicated to food production, are no longer feasible. Pollution of water sources, such as streams, rivers, lakes, and aquifers, has accelerated to the point where some water sources around the world are now considered “dead zones”. One such area that has received much publicity is the Mississippi River delta that feeds into the Gulf of Mexico. Vast areas, both on the seabed, and along the coastlines of neighboring states, are now lifeless, from oxygen depletion. This dead zone of water has been directly attributable to the use of industrial chemicals and organophosphates by farms all up and down the Mississippi River basin.

            All farming methods encounter problems, such as pests, weeds, disease, etc. How the farmer deals with the problems may distinguish ‘shallow’ from ‘deep’ farming. The shallow farming method will use quick-fix solutions that involve sprays, chemicals (even if designated “organic”), fertilizers, herbicides, etc. Conversely, the deep organic farmer strives for a more permanent relationship with nature, and uses approaches that are land- and people-friendly. Deep farming will use more benign interventions (biological controls, botanicals, etc.) and alternative strategies (repellents, traps, mating disruption, etc).

            It can be observed that at its root, deep organics is going to involve a structural design/redesign of the systems currently in use for industrial farming methods. A key goal of deep organic farming is to have food production methods that are self-regulating, self-maintaining, and problem-proof. One aspect of this redesign approach is the permaculture method of shaping and forming the landscape itself. This has also been referred to as an “agroecosystem design”. There are specific methods that can be utilized and implemented that will maximize water usage, as well as water-capture systems, planting trees for wind breaks, and other various agroecosystem applications.

            There are many positive benefits from switching to a deep farming approach. These advantages and gains can range from a personal one (less dependency on petrochemicals and fossil fuels, a sense of integration and connection, fewer adverse effects, and community involvement), to sociocultural (cutting out the middleman, a desire on the part of the individual to move to an urban environment, sustainable food system), to ecological benefits, i.e., a truly sustainable and ecologically managed ecosystem and healthy food production. The change to a truly organic and sustainable lifestyle is critical to fully implement and integrate our personal, social, and food system transformation. Our future depends on it!
